Help families create memories this Christmas that will last a lifetime

Local families are facing their last Christmas with loved ones with a life-limiting illness. By donating to Katharine House, you can help them receive compassionate, individualised care and support so they can make the most of the time they have left together.

“Memories can still be made even in the saddest of times. Katharine House enabled this, and the staff were incredible and offered support in every way.” Jane, patient relative

Our dedicated team of doctors, nurses and support staff desperately want to make every moment matter for people in our community, helping them continue living life after loss, acknowledging difficult times, and remembering happy times too. We hope you can donate a gift, whatever you can afford, to help families living with a life-limiting illness this winter season.

Please can you make a gift today to help raise the £65,000 we need to provide care over the festive period?

Thank you.

Join us for the Lights of Love annual service

The staff and volunteers at Katharine House have always particularly enjoyed the Lights of Love services as they are such a profoundly positive way to remember those who were in their care and to be with the families they also looked after. This year we're going to be doing things slightly differently with an online service. It will be filmed at Katharine House and we hope you will be able to join us.

How your support helps Katharine House create memories

From facilitating special wedding ceremonies to arranging an urgent TV subscription so a father and son could watch a final football match together, your support has helped local families make the most of every moment left to them.

Our doctors, nurses and all the Katharine House team always go the extra mile to provide excellent levels of care to patients and their loved ones, but with a serious fall in income during these troubled times, the support of our local community is very much needed.

Thank you for all that you do for Katharine House. Your support is always very much appreciated. Whatever you are doing this festive season, we hope it involves creating good memories that will last a lifetime.

  • £30 could help provide nutritious freshly cooked meals for a patient staying in the hospice over Christmas
  • £75 could help provide telephone support for families caring for a loved one at home
  • £105 could help provide specialist end-of-life care in our Inpatient Unit over the festive period

12 Days of Christmas fundraising

In addition to donating to our Christmas Appeal, why not join us during December for a wide variety of fundraising events that we have planned.

  • Festive jumper day: don your festive jumper on 11 December and get into the festive spirit.
  • Christmas balloon race: the ever-popular virtual balloon race will be launched from Santa’s village on Christmas Day - the perfect gift for everyone to enjoy over the days that follow.
  • Christmas curry: use up your Christmas turkey and other leftovers in a curry evening to share with friends and family.
