This role will play a huge part in the significant and exciting period of change, implementing and embedding its new HR Strategy. We look to achieve a number of ambitious and compelling goals which will have a massive impact on the organisation and its service users.

As the Head of HR, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the Chief Executive in developing and implementing a progressive HR strategy for the organisation which clearly supports the achievement of organisational goals and ensures we recruit and retain the right people and develop and engage them to deliver the highest standards of performance.
  • Take responsibility for the delivery of high quality, comprehensive and customer-oriented HR service across the organisation.
  • Line manage the HR and Volunteering team to ensure they are motivated, coached and supported to perform to a high standard.

To be successful in the role, the ideal candidate will be a fully chartered member of the CIPD and have experience of leading a high performing HR team with up to date knowledge of employment law, best practice and strategic thinking. We also require that you have a genuine interest in and commitment to the services of Katharine House Hospice as well as the ability to build rapport and develop effective working relationships at all levels across the organisation.
