We are looking to recruit a Volunteer Coordinator to manage all elements of our volunteer programme. This is an exciting opportunity to support and manage over 350 volunteers. You would be responsible for communication and engagement with volunteers to provide them with a quality volunteering experience. Volunteers are so important to Katharine House Hospice. We depend on contributions of time and skills and we want to attract even more volunteers so that the hospice can continue to provide vital care to patients and their families.

We are looking to achieve a number of ambitious goals within the HR and Volunteering function which will have a massive impact on the organisation and its service users. Reporting to the Head of HR, you will champion volunteering within and outside the hospice, and engage with diverse volunteers and managers to ensure that we constantly learn and improve.

You will recruit, support and develop the regular volunteers needed to meet the hospice's strategic objectives. As a subject matter expert, you will confidently provide accurate advice and guidance to managers regarding volunteering opportunities, policies and processes and assist them in recruiting and managing volunteers with the skills they require.

As well as this there will be an opportunity to take the strategic lead on volunteering at the hospice, working with the Head of HR to further develop an organisational volunteering infrastructure that supports and develop existing and new volunteering initiatives.

To be successful in the role, the ideal candidate will have extensive experience of supervising and managing people as well experience in the development and management of projects. You must be able to prioritise and juggle changing demands whilst working to deadlines. A confident communicator, you will have the ability to build rapport and engaging a variety of audiences to encourage volunteering as well as working with managers to attract great volunteers.
