Last week, BBC Radio Oxford visited the hospice to broadcast the Lilley Mitchell Show live from our reception area. During the three-hour programme, presenter Lilley found out about the work we do and spoke to patients, staff and volunteers about the difference Katharine House makes to local people.

 Chris Higgins, Communications Officer at the hospice said:

“The prospect of coordinating a three-hour live broadcast from Katharine House with the BBC team was a great opportunity to show what our hospice is really like; to show off the smiles and laughter that are a permanent fixture at Katharine House, and to tell people about the work we do for people facing life-limiting illness in our community. We spent a couple of weeks working with them to develop the outline of the programme and the broadcast was a huge success on the day. The patients who were interviewed were laughing and joking, and by the end of the day they said they’d enjoyed it so much they’d like to do it again the next day!”
