Congratulations to our lovely supporter and former volunteer Dot, who recently found out she was a first-place prize winner in our Easter virtual balloon race! Dot is one half of Pat and Dot, who together ran a stall in aid of Katharine House for many years, giving up countless hours of their time to support us.

Dot has entered all our virtual balloon races since we started running them last year but was yet to win anything until our recent Easter event, when she not only won the top prize of Amazon vouchers in our own race but also came first place in the organiser’s main race, bagging the top prize of £500! Dot named her balloons after her grandchildren and will split the winnings between them.

Dot said, 'We enter more for the fun of it and to support Katharine House and certainly didn’t expect to win both races. We've entered all the races over lockdown and introduced my sister's family and two more friends to enrol as it all helps the hospice.'
