The Midnight Walk is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we need your help to make it the best yet.
Below you'll find all the information you need about the walk, but if there's anything else you want to know, just give us a ring on 01295 816 484 or email us at [email protected]
There is a choice of six or ten miles.
The Midnight Walk will take walkers from the Rugby club, on the Oxford Road, through Bodicote and around Banbury finishing back at the Rugby Club again. There will be a mix of walking on tarmac paths and walking on grass which may be uneven.
Unfortunately, we are not able to take the route pass the hospice due to health and safety and number of marshals we would need to do this.
Yes a map of both routes can be found here Midnight_Walk_Routes_2019.pdf
When you register, you will be asked what route you will be taking, six or ten miles. The timings for the evening, including the departure times of different groups, are given below:7.30 pm: Registration opens9pm: All walkers leave the Rugby Club
Yes, there will be parking available on the night at the Rugby Club. Parking spaces are limited so please try and travel together – its also better for the environment.
Registration will take place on the night in the Rugby Club building. This will be signposted.
We do not have lockers available for you to leave your belongings and we cannot take responsibility for anything left unattended at the Rugby Club. We recommend that you only bring what you need on the night and take this with you.
The registration fee for early birds is £15 adults and £8 for 8-17 year olds. The Early Bird offer ends 7th May. The cost will be £20 per adult and £10 younger walks thereafter until midday on 16th June 2019.
This covers the cost of administration, refreshments on route, your medal, and your certificate of achievement at the end. The registration fee ensures that all the sponsorship money you raise can go directly to helping our patients and their families, friends and carers.
This year we are not offering free t-shirts for midnight walk. We want to keep the cost of the event as low and as affordable a possible, so we cannot provide free t-shirts. However, we will have some special Midnight walk 2019 t-shirts available for you to purchase at a small cost – we know how much some of you like collecting the t-shirts. You can purchase these when you sign up and pick them up on the night.
If we can secure a sponsor for the t-shirts, this may change. If this is the case, we will of course refund the costs of any t-shirts already purchased.
We ask each participant to raise as much sponsorship as possible, as all the sponsorship will go towards supporting our community team this year. The minimum you agree to raise when signing up for Midnight Walk is £30 per person.
The cost of each nurse per day is £175. We aim to raise £65,000 through this year’s Midnight Walk as this can is the cost of having nursing support available seven days a week, 365 days a year.
You will get a Sponsorship Form in your registration pack, and you can email us at any time to get extra copies at [email protected]. Please ensure everyone’s details are added and ensure that you get your sponsors to tick the gift aid box. Gift Aid cannot be claimed without these.
