Test your courage and take part in one of the shortest sponsored walks in the world.

Bored of the same four walls? Does the thought of spending more time indoors leave you feeling cold? Why not try something new, challenge yourself, and turn up the fundraising heat by taking part in our fire walk to help support people facing life-limiting illness in our community.

By signing up to take part in the Katharine House firewalk, you'll be walking over embers burning at a temperature that could melt aluminium - without any injury or pain. You'll receive all the training needed to take part on the night during an inspirational motivation session, that will provide you with everything you need to know to take part in this once in a lifetime experience.

All entrants must be able to walk the length of the walk (12 feet) unaided and with good mobility and be aged 18 or over.

£25 registration (includes a Firewalk certificate to prove that you braved the heat for a great cause).  £125 minimum sponsorship for this fundraising event for Katharine House.

“I had taken part in quite a few charity walks and thought the Firewalk is a bit different and it would be a real challenge for me.  Some colleagues joined in and we made a great evening of it, raising funds for KHH at the same time – definitely a win-win!” Pam Hamblin, Losberger De Boer UK

Safety and welfare

Spectators

Due to restrictions on events relating to COVID-19, we are sorry to say that we aren't going to be able to allow spectators to watch this event. We continue to monitor the situation and, should government guidelines allow, this may change. However, in the meantime, please keep this in mind and we will keep all participants up to date on the situation as we near the event date.

Whatever the situation, we will make sure your supporters get to see you do your firewalk by live streaming the event on the night.

The date of the event

Our priority is the safety and welfare of our participants, staff and volunteers and while we remain in lockdown it's difficult to know exactly when restrictions will be lifted. We have therefore been in discussion with the venue and organisers and should it not be possible to hold the firewalk on 23 April, it will be moved to Friday 17 September. You may wish to block out this date in your diary just in case, but we really hope this won’t be necessary. We will, of course, continue to assess the situation and keep you informed of any changes.
