FAQs - coronavirus and organised events At the moment, the following events have been affected: Katharine House organised events: Midnight Walk is postponed until Friday 18 September Care for a Cuppa is going virtual (more details coming soon!) China trek info evening has been postponed – new date to be confirmed Friday Health Walks at the hospice have been postponed until further notice. External events: The Government has put a stop to gatherings of more than two people in public, so all events for the next few weeks, or until otherwise notified, have been cancelled. Organisers of these events, such as the London Marathon, will aim to postpone them until later in the year, and you should keep updated of any changes on the event pages. Katharine House is following government advice and monitoring the situation carefully and will update our own event pages with any further changes wherever necessary. We're also working with our partners and taking advice from Public Health England. If any other events are affected, we’ll be in contact with you directly as soon as possible. Q. Can I get a refund of my registration fee and sponsorship if my event is cancelled or postponed as a result of coronavirus? We are offering refund for registration fees for Midnight Walk for anyone who is not able to make the new date. For all other events, please see the terms and conditions of the events, which are available on the event pages at www.khh.org.uk/whats-on. If you’d like a refund of your sponsorship money, contact our Community and Events Team on [email protected], who will make the arrangements for you. Q. I have more questions about my event, who do I contact? You can contact our Community and Events Team at [email protected]. Please contact us by email rather than phone as we will be monitoring emails on a daily basis. With the current situation changing regularly, we cannot guarantee that we will always be able to answer phone calls. We’ll also be updating our website event pages with new information as and when we have it. Be sure to check these regularly at www.khh.org.uk/whats-on. Q. If my event isn’t cancelled but I’d still prefer not to go, can I get a refund? If you do decide to pull out of an event, unfortunately we can’t reallocate your place and the charity will lose money. We're sorry but we can't refund registration fees. If you’d like a refund of your sponsorship money, contact our Community and Events Team at [email protected]. Our team can make the arrangements with you. Q. If my event is cancelled and I still want to donate my fundraising is that ok? Yes, thank you so much! Our local end-of-life care services are at significant risk due to funding challenges and we sincerely appreciate your continued support. It would be wonderful if you could still make your donation. Your support helps provide vital care and support for more than 900 local families affected by a life-limiting illness every year. That need doesn’t stop even if our fundraising has to be postponed, so all donations are very gratefully received. Q. If my event is postponed or cancelled will you offer me an alternative date? If you have signed up to an event which is run by a third party, e.g. marathons, half marathons, cycle rides, we will keep you up to date with arrangements for new dates and can offer you places on the new dates. We regret that we are not able to offer a refund if you cannot make these dates. In some cases (for example, with many of the events we organise ourselves), we do have contingency arrangements and will keep you informed of arrangements for any new dates. We have new event dates for some of our events. We will continue monitoring the situation carefully and are in regular contact with all our event organisers. If the situation changes in the coming days or weeks, we will update everyone who’s signed up to an affected event as soon as we can. Q. I can't do my planned event, but I still want to help support Katharine House. What can I do? Thank you! Your support is invaluable in helping make every moment matter for people living with a life-limiting illness. There are loads of ways you can fundraise to support our work. You could get involved with our virtual Care for a Cuppa fundraiser and encourage friends and family to do the same from their own home. See www.khh.org.uk/cuppa Or take part in may of our other upcoming virtual events. Keep checking out What's On pages to see what's coming up soon. When restrictions are lifted, you could host a small scale outdoor Cuppa event with close friends and family as a way of getting back together again. Or plan your very own walk with friends or family members when we can all get back outside together. Thank you again for all your support, we really appreciate it.
