This week is Hospice Care Week, and we’ve teamed up with Banbury FM for a series of features to show what it takes to provide specialist palliative care in the community.

Every day this week there will be a different feature, looking at the services we provide, our staff, patients and volunteers. It’s a real behind the scenes look at what hospice care is really like, and the wonderful people we come in to contact with every day.

We’ll also be taking a look at the funding issues facing Katharine House, and hospices in general – with more and more people needing hospice services, our costs are going up and government funding is going down.

We now face a planned deficit of £435,000 and urgently need the support of the community to help bridge that gap to ensure people can access the care they need, when and where they need it.

Please tune in now, or listen again, and find out more about your local hospice.

You can also donate and support local people living with a life-limiting illness here.
