Healthcare Assistants are required for zero hour contracts to cover periods of sickness and holiday.  These contracts allow flexibility for you to say when you wish to work but require reasonable availability to respond to our needs.  Most of the work is in our inpatient area where shifts are operated.  This is also a fantastic opportunity to develop skills in palliative care.  Please note that an enhanced police check through the Disclosure & Barring Service will be required for these positions.

Bank Cook

An opportunity has arisen for a Cook to cover annual leave and sickness on an as and when required basis for our 3pm – 7pm shift.  Please be aware that this will occasionally include weekend work.

Our Catering team provides meals for patients, relatives, staff and volunteers 365 days per year.  You will assist in all aspects of preparation, service, washing-up and cleaning duties related to the provision of a high quality catering service.

Applicants must be able to provide a light supper by preparing simple home-cooked food using fresh ingredients. Ability to work on your own initiative in a busy environment is essential.  You must also have high standards of hygiene as well as being reliable and willing to work at short notice. Previous experience in a catering environment is preferable.

Clinical Nurse Specialist (Band 7) - 0.6 WTE Job Share

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse with excellent palliative care skills to join our community and hospital CNS team. The post holder will work primarily in the community and occasionally in the local general hospital, thus giving the opportunity to utilise a broad range of skills. The successful applicant will be expected both to share a caseload with another member of the established CNS team and liaise with GPs and other healthcare professionals interchangeably. The team works as an integral part of the established multi-disciplinary team of Katharine House Hospice.  Car and driving licence essential.

Home Nursing Service – Staff Nurse & Bank Staff Nurses (Band 5)

We require a registered nurse who is willing to nurse patients in their own homes during the night. The contract will be for 2 nights per week on average. However, flexibility will be required to work these shifts. We are also looking to appoint bank staff nurses to this night service.

Car and Driving Licence essential.

There will be opportunities to work on the Inpatient Unit for those who need to further develop their specialist palliative care knowledge and skills.  Please note that an enhanced criminal record check through the Disclosure & Barring Service will be required for this position.
