What do I need to bring?

  • A waterproof coat, depending on the weather.
  • Suncream and hat.
  • A full water bottle. There will be water points provided along the route offering free refills. We will not be handing out bottles, so you must bring your own. This will help us to reduce plastic waste.
  • A fully charged mobile phone. The emergency number on the day is 07512 690706.
  • Good, comfortable, well worn-in walking shoes.
  • Safety pins for your running number, which you will receive on the day. You will need to have your running number in order to walk on the event.
  • A mask in case you'll be going indoors at any point.
  • A picnic if you would like to stay after your walk and relax with your friends and family.

When do I start?

Signposting: our event will be well signed, with marshals at frequent points along the route. We will be adding downloadable directions to this page before the event, and you also might like to download the Ordnance Survey App, where you can trace your progress as you go.

See the OS routes via these links:

Personal safety: Please walk with other walkers. If you become separated from other walkers, please wait at the nearest marshal point and join the walkers behind you. We will have a back walker supporting both routes.

Dropping out

If you need to drop out, please find your nearest marshal, who will be spaced at regular intervals along the route. They will arrange for you to be picked up and returned to the Rugby Club. If you do decide to leave the route for any reason, please let us know. Call 07512 690706

Dogs

Please remember that dogs are not allowed at the Rugby Club. We therefore don’t encourage you to bring your dog.

Track and trace

We need to have contact details for every member of your walking party. If you are a group leader, please get in touch with us and provide contact details for all of your party (if you haven’t already done so).

BBQ and picnic

We'll be running a BBQ and picnic at the Rugby Club from 5.30pm. Please do come and join us once you’ve finished your walk.

Don’t miss the 8pm clap for the hospice!

We hope that you'll still be with us at 8pm, ready to join the 8pm clap for the hospice. Even if you're still not at the Rugby Club, please show your appreciation for everything that our fabulous hospice staff have done during the pandemic by clapping at 8pm.
