Firstly, a HUGE thank you for offering to volunteer for the ‘Not the Midnight Walk’. We are delighted that you are able to help us this year.

Why we need your help

The pandemic has had a devastating impact on our fundraising, with many events cancelled or postponed. We are hoping to raise over £40,000 for the hospice. Your help means that we can make the most of every single penny raised, to ensure that it goes to supporting people with life-limiting illness in our local community.

About the event

We’re running brand new six-mile and ten-mile routes. Take a look.

Six-mile route (wheelchair/pushchair friendly): this route takes you up into the town, through People’s Park and Easington Park and back along the Salt Way to the Rugby Club.

Ten-mile route (cross-country and through the town): this route takes you down to Adderbury, past the hospice, across the fields to Bodicote and into town, joining the six-mile route through People’s Park and Easington Park and then finally along the Salt Way back to the Rugby Club.

See the OS routes via these links:

Timings for this year’s event

  • 2pm: first ten-mile group departs.
  • 3.45pm: first six-mile group departs.

We expect all walkers to have completed the route by 8.30pm

BBQ and picnic

We will be running a BBQ and picnic at the Rugby Club from 5.30pm. Please do come and join us once you’ve finished your volunteering shift. (Apologies to those stewarding during the picnic!)

Don’t miss the 8pm clap for the hospice!

Wherever you are on the night, please show your appreciation for everything that our fabulous hospice staff have done during the pandemic.

Volunteer registration timings

We have lots of volunteers helping us in different ways on different days.

Volunteer registration times vary depending on your role on the day. You will find a registration time on your event information email. Please contact us at [email protected] if you have any queries.

  • Creating a one-way system at the Rugby Club.
  • Using hand sanitisers and frequent cleaning of surfaces.
  • Social distancing measures.

You can help us by maintaining a good hand hygiene routine and keeping a 2m distance from our participants.
