Being part of the reception team involves offering a warm and sensitive welcome to visitors and callers to Katharine House.  Receptionists greet people arriving at the hospice and answer and direct phone calls; having a friendly face on reception can make all the difference to our visitors.

You'll need to be willing to work independently, to be sensitive to the different needs of visitors and callers and to maintain confidentiality.

We have vacancies for the following regular shifts which can be on a weekly rotation, fortnightly or once a month, depending on your availability:

  • Every third Thursday morning 8.30am-1pm (1 slot available)
  • Every other Thursday afternoon 1.00-5.30pm (1 slot available)
  • Every other Monday afternoon 1.00-5.30pm (temporary cover)
  • Saturday morning once a month 9am-1pm (1 slot available)
  • Saturday evening once a month 5.00-8.00pm (1 slot available)
  • Sunday morning once a month 9am-1pm (1 slot available)
  • Sunday evening once a month 1.00-5.00pm (1 slot available)
