Santa Fun Run 2026

It’s back and merrier than ever! Gather your family, friends and colleagues this December and get ready to dash, jog or stroll your way through our festive Santa Fun Run, all to raise money for Katharine House.

Date: Sunday 6 December 2026
Time: 10am for a 10.45am race start (until midday)
Location: North Oxfordshire Academy running track (aka Lapland)
Registration fee: £10 Early Bird until 31 October when registration increases to £20 on 1 November

Your Challenge, Your Distance

This year, we’re doing things differently – there’s no fixed distance to complete.

Taking place on a 400m track, you decide what success looks like:

🏃 Run or walk as far as you can in one hour.

🎯 Set yourself a distance target and complete it within the hour.

Whether it’s 1 lap or 100, every step counts. Choose a goal that suits you and challenge yourself at your own pace. The clock runs for one hour, and your challenge is to achieve your chosen distance before time is up.

Go green this Christmas!

We’re asking our runners to help the hospice reduce its environmental impact. We do have a small number of suits available on a first come first served basis, but we are asking everyone to get creative and:

Reuse a suit from a previous year
Wear a Santa hat
Wear Christmas pyjamas
Wear a Christmas jumper
Wear a Christmas colour

How your support helps Katharine House Hospice

There’s no set fundraising target this year, instead we’re encouraging everyone to raise as much as they can, helping to fund vital care and support. Here’s how your fundraising could help:

£150 could cover the basic costs of our bereavement team for a day, enabling them to provide expert support to those who are grieving after the loss of someone close.
£80 could fund a visit from one of our Community Nurses to a patient in the comfort of their own home.
£22.64 could fund an hour of compassionate, expert nursing care for a patient in our Inpatient Unit.

Santa Fun Run FAQs

What do I need to bring?

Safety pins:  you will receive your running number on the day or when you collect your Santa Suit.
Running shoes: please wear appropriate footwear that you don’t mind getting wet.
A full water bottle: we will offer free refills, but we will not supply free disposable plastic bottles.

Where do I collect my Santa suit?

If you have requested a Santa suit, you can pick this up from the hospice on:

Wednesday 2 December 3pm-6pm, or at the event.

Suits not available for collecting outside of these times. There will be a small number available for collection between 10am and 10.30am before the run, but please note there are no changing facilities at the event itself.
