Here’s all the key information you need to plan for the Santa Fun Run 2023. We’ll be in touch via email whenever there’s an update to this page.

Essential information

  • When? Sunday 3 December. Registration open 10-10:45am. The Run starts at 11am.
  • Where? Spiceball Park, Banbury OX16 2RD

What do I need to bring?

  • Safety pins: you will receive your running number on the day.
  • Running shoes: please wear appropriate footwear that you don’t mind getting wet and muddy. Spiceball Park can get a bit soggy in the winter.
  • A full water bottle: we will offer free refills, but we will not supply free disposable plastic bottles.

Collecting your Santa suit or hat

You can pick up your Santa suit or hat from the hospice on:

  • Tuesday 28 November 37pm or
  • Saturday 2 December 10am1pm.

Suits and hats are not available for collecting outside of these times. There will be a small number available for collection between 10am and 10.30am before the run, but please note there are no changing facilities at the event itself. We encourage you to pick up on Tuesday or Saturday to help the event run smoothly.

Can I bring my dog?

Well-behaved dogs are permitted to take part in the Santa Fun Run. Please be respectful of other walkers and keep your dog on a lead.

The route

Whether you’re doing the 1.5k run or the 5k run, we strongly urge you to train beforehand. The fitter you feel, the more you’ll enjoy the experience of running with hundreds of jogging Santas!

5km

You will complete three laps of our Spiceball Park course. The run takes place on well-marked paths at Spiceball Park. In the winter months, the course can be uneven and muddy, so if you intend to bring a buggy or wheelchair, it is your responsibility to ensure that it's able to manage this type of trickier terrain. We do not recommend trying to complete the event in non-all-terrain buggies and wheelchairs.

1.5km

The 1.5km route follows part of the 5km route and cuts off after the second Spiceball field. You will complete one lap only. Please be aware that the paths can be very muddy in the winter. We do not recommend any non-all-terrain buggies/wheelchairs for this course.

Photographs

We will have photographers taking pictures of the event. If you don't want your photograph taken, please let someone know at the welcome desk.
