Midnight Walk

We need Volunteer Heroes to support our Midnight Walk!  All roles are overnight on Saturday 7th July.

We're looking for a volunteer to drive our support minibus on the night.  You might pick up stray walkers or help get marshals to their stations.  You'll need a clean driving licence with entitlement to dive category D1 vehicles (standard before 1997).

Marshals help to make sure our Midnight Walkers have a safe and enjoyable time. You’ll cheer on participants and make sure everyone is sticking to the right route. You’ll need to be willing to do some training and to work in a team taking instructions from the Marshal Supervisor. You will be working outside at night and require reasonable level of fitness.

Set up/Clear down

We need volunteers to help us set up and clear up again afterwards.  You'll need to be happy to fetch and carry and it would be great if you're a driver too.

We're looking for someone to join our fundraising team at least one day a week from September to December to help organise our very special Lights of Love services.  You'll need to be computer literate and happy to work independently.  If you're looking to break into Fundraising or Events or just have a chunk of time to spare this autumn this could be the perfect role for you.  To find out more please download the role profile.

Bag Pack & Collection Coordinators

If you’re great at organising this might be the role for you!  We’re looking for volunteers to help us by organising bag packs and street collections in Banbury and Brackley.  You’ll liaise with supermarkets, find volunteers and ensure everything goes smoothly on the day.  Most of the coordinating can be done from home but you might need to pop into the hospice from time to time.  You’ll be supported by a great team and get experience of coordinating a project.

One event per quarter

Bag Packers & Collectors

Bag Packers and Collectors help us to raise money by taking part in street collections or giving people a hand with their shopping at one of our bag packs.  You’ll need to be able to stand for a couple of hours and to enjoy meeting people and talking about the work of Katharine House Hospice. You can volunteer for just a few hours a year and still make a big difference.

Various dates throughout the year

Communications volunteers

If you're social media savvy or have a way with words  you can use your skills to help us keep in touch with our supporters and reach new ones. Volunteering in our Communications Office is a chance to use your skills and to gain experience, or material for a portfolio. If you're passionate about communication we would love to hear from you.  For more information download the role profile.

Flexible commitment

Promotions volunteers

Promotions volunteers make sure people know about our events and campaigns by distributing banners and leaflets and collecting them back up again.  You’ll need to be fairly fit and to have your own transport.
