Being part of the reception team involves offering a warm and sensitive welcome to visitors and callers to Katharine House.  Receptionists greet people arriving at the hospice and answer and direct phone calls; having a friendly face on reception can make all the difference to our visitors.  We currently need people to join the team on a regular basis on:

Tuesday evenings: 5.30pm - 8.30pm

Saturdays: 9am - 1pm & 1pm - 5pm

Sundays: 1pm - 5pm & 5pm - 8.30pm

Most of our receptionists volunteer every other week or once a month at weekends.

Ward Clerks

Ward Clerks are based in our inpatient unit where they offer a welcome to visitors and administrative support to staff.  This role includes contact with patients and families so Ward Clerks need to be sensitive and friendly as well as highly organised in dealing with messages and administrative tasks.  We currently have vacancies for Ward Clerks on:

Every Tuesday: 8.30am - 1pm

Every other Friday: 1.30pm - 5.30pm & 5.30pm - 8.30pm

Fundraising and Communications Support

Computer literate volunteers needed to offer admin support to our fundraising team.

Flower Arrangers

Working in pairs to create flower arrangements for display around the hospice.  Thursdays approximately once a month.

Housekeeping volunteers

Volunteers needed to help keep our hospice clean and tidy.
