Our Bereavement Support team needs you

Our Bereavement Support team and volunteers can only do what they do thanks to the kindness and generosity of our supporters. By donating today, you can help us to provide essential, free bereavement care services to a patient’s family and friends struggling to come to terms with the loss of a loved one.

Every donation you make has a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of patients and their families. Your support ensures that every moment matters for those facing the challenges of life-limiting illness.

Most people know about the vital end-of-life care that we provide for our local community, but the hospice is also committed to ensuring the holistic wellbeing of patients and their families, particularly in the challenging aftermath of loss.

The importance of bereavement care cannot be overstated. Many of us have experienced first hand that the journey doesn’t end with the death of a loved one; rather, it evolves into a new chapter where grief and living coexist. But the demand for our services is greater than ever before, and Katharine House is the only organisation in our region providing this care, free of charge.

By donating today, you can help us continue to provide essential, free bereavement care services to those in our community who need it most.

Our free bereavement services offer specialist support and strategies for a patient’s family and friends, including children, struggling to come to terms with the loss of a loved one. Our trained bereavement support volunteers provide a listening ear through one-to-one support sessions, as well as during monthly bereavement café group meetings. These vital support services help individuals cope with grief and find a sense of meaning and purpose.
