Katharine House Hospice provides free specialist palliative care for adults with life-limiting conditions across North Oxfordshire and South Northamptonshire.

The hospice is dedicated to providing a holistic approach that considers the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of patients. We tell their stories in a positive and respectful way to help share how our specialist care teams make such a difference to patients and their loved ones. As a supporter, you are crucial in helping us to ensure these vital specialist services can continue.

How your gift to us is used

When you make a donation, we make the commitment to you that we will spend your money effectively and efficiently, in order to provide outstanding care to as many people as possible.

How we fundraise

We are registered with the Fundraising Regulator and follow the Code of Fundraising Practice. This means that our fundraising is legal, open, honest and respectful.

We think carefully about the types of fundraising that we do and consider the impact of our fundraising on our donors, supporters and the wider public. We would never put undue pressure on you to make a gift, and if you do not want to give or wish to cease giving, then we will respect your decision.

In 2023 we started door-to-door fundraising to recruit new players for our Lottery – this is a vital part of our fundraising growth strategy. We use specialist agency TFP (The Fundraising Partnership) to do this and we explain how this works on our Lottery page here. Other than this, we do not do any form of cold-calling via the phone or door to door.

How we use your details

We’re proud of the work that we do and the impact we make in our local community, and so want to share this with you, our supporters. We respect your rights and privacy, and we’ll try to understand the best ways to communicate with you. You’ll always have the choice to unsubscribe from our communications (whether specific ones or altogether) or update your details.

We encourage our supporters to allow us to claim Gift Aid on any donations, as this gives us more money without costing you any more. We need some personal details to make these claims.

If we ask a third party to fundraise on our behalf, we will make this relationship clear and ensure that the financial arrangement is transparent.

Being accountable and responsible

We are approachable and friendly and so if you have a query, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We very rarely receive any complaints but if you are unhappy with anything we’ve done whilst fundraising then you can contact us to make a complaint. We will listen to feedback and respond appropriately to both compliments and criticism that we receive.

You can see a copy of our complaints procedure here.
