In 2016, local torque tools experts, and Banbury-based Norbar chose us as their Charity of the Year. Last week, Philip Brodey visited the Hospice to deliver the total amount raised by the company.

To raise the £7,931, Norbar employees took part in numerous fundraising events throughout the year; from taking on the 52-mile Thames Path Challenge, to the 26-mile Abingdon marathon. Eleven staff members also joined in our annual Midnight Walk, strolling 10 miles through Banbury on Midsummer's Night.

Their fundraising wasn't limited to runs and walks, there was the annual charity football match - always hotly contested between Norbar and Karcher, another of our corporate partners. And of course there was the famous 'Norbar Bake-off' competition, possibly our favourite of all the competitions!

Philip said;

"It was a great pleasure to be able to present this cheque today, and this was a fantastic fundraising effort for a much-loved local charity."

Chris Higgins, Communications Officer at the Hospice, thanked the staff at Norbar for their donations;

"We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Norbar, not only are they one of the world's leading specialists in the field of torque tools, but they've been based in Banbury since the 1940s. Their enthusiasm and hard work raising money for us over the last couple of years has helped countless families facing life-limiting illnesses in the community. We look forward to working with them in the future."
