When will the flowers be on display at Upton House and Gardens?

Rose to Remember will be on display at Upton House from Tuesday 18 June to Sunday 30 June. The grounds are open to the public every day from 10am to 5pm.

How much is a rose?

Each rose costs £30. To purchase a rose, please go back to our Rose to Remember page.

Is there a limit to how many roses I can buy?

We would ask that you buy no more than five via our website, but if you want to purchase more than that, get in touch with us using the contact details at the foot of this page.

Can I choose the colour of the rose?

This year all the roses will be white. We will change the colour each year.

Will my rose be labelled with my loved one's name?

No, however there will be a dedication board and if you have dedicated a flower before 1 June, your loved one's name will appear on here.

When is the private viewing?

The private viewing will be on Tuesday 18 June and is open to those who have purchased a rose. You are welcome to bring friends and family. Guests will need to pre-book, choosing between the morning (10.30am-12.30pm) and afternoon sessions (1.30-3.30pm).

If you need to change your slot after booking, please contact us with the details below. At the viewing, members of Katharine House Hospice staff and bereavement team will be present and refreshments will be available to purchase.

The restaurant will be open and refreshments will be available to purchase. You are welcome to bring your own picnic and enjoy the gardens. There will no charge to enter the gardens and house on this day. Access to the house is via timed ticket and these are available to select upon arrival at reception.

What if a can't attend the private viewing?

If you have bought a rose and are unable to attend the private viewing day, Upton House has very generously offered free admission on another day during the display for you and any family or friends you would like to bring with you. If you would like to do this, then please let us know and we will send you a letter to show on arrival at reception.

Why did you choose a rose?

Our hospice is named after Katharine who died from cancer at just 20 years old. Her favourite flower was the rose and it has always formed part of our logo.

Do you have directions to Upton House and Gardens?

Is the display accessible?

There is designated disabled parking available. The display will be located in the Quiet Orchard, which is approximately 300m from the entrance. There will be a volunteer-operated driver-assisted buggy to take visitors from the reception to the display if needed. 

There is an accessible toilet, an accessible wheelchair route through the ground floor of the house and through parts of the garden.

Can I bring my dog?

Guide and assistance dogs are welcome in the house and throughout the rest of the site. No other dogs are permitted, so please ensure your dog is wearing its identifying jacket.

Can I collect my rose from the hospice?

Yes, following the display, you are welcome to come to Katharine House Hospice to collect your rose.

After the event, you will be able to collect your rose(s) from the hospice reception at the following times: 

    • Wednesday 3 July: 37pm 
    • Saturday 6 July: 10am1pm 
    • Tuesday 9 July: 3–5pm 

You don’t need to book a collection slot.

Can I get the flower delivered?

Yes, for an additional £6 we can post your rose to you after the display. The roses will be packaged and distributed week commencing Monday 1 July. The cost covers postage and packaging. Please note that your rose will not fit through a letterbox.
