Our inpatient unit is a very busy but welcoming environment at the heart of the hospice. As a ward receptionist you will welcome visitors and provide hospitality to them. You will sit with patients to provide companionship, answer the phone and record messages, and respond to call bells.

You will have excellent personable communication skills and a friendly manner and be comfortable working within a ward. We ask that you are sensitive to the needs of the visitors and patients and ensure the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness.

Previous experience in nursing or the care sector is ideal but not essential. We'll give you all the training you need. You will be required to wear a face mask for the whole shift.

We have vacancies for the following regular shifts which can be on a weekly rotation or fortnightly, depending on your availability:

  • Alternate Saturday afternoons 1-5pm
  • Sunday afternoons 1-5pm

We always welcome applicants who could be our Reserve Ward Receptionists: short notice flexibility to cover shifts where required both during the week and at weekends
