Here are some suggestions from Living Well and online for ways to give. Do something nice for a friend, or a stranger. Thank someone. Smile. Give someone a wave from your window. Join an online community group. Look out, as well as in. Seeing yourself, and your happiness, linked to the wider community can be incredibly rewarding and creates connections with the people around you.

Message Board

Why not post a message on the Living Well Message Board, which can be found in every issue of the Living Well News? Write about how you are, share something interesting you have read or watched, something beautiful you have seen, a delicious recipe you have recently tried … others would love to hear from you.

Not heard of the Living Well News? All past issues can be found here. If you are affected by life-limiting illness and you would like to receive the newsletters by email or post, please email [email protected].

Decorate a bird to add to the flock

We would love for something beautiful to come out of all this and so we are hoping to create a flock of beautifully decorated birds to display when we can all return to Katharine House. If everyone decorates a bird, we’ll have quite a collection! Pens, pencils, paint, a poem, a few words - whatever feels right to you. You can download the template here.

Give online

Do you have any children in your family? Could you read them a book via Zoom or another similar online platform? You will not only be giving the child the wonderful gift of a story but also their parents five minutes’ peace!

Give offline

Get in touch with someone: maybe you haven’t heard from a loved one for a while, perhaps you’ve lost touch or maybe you simply haven’t seen someone as much as you normally would. Pick up the phone, send a message or an email, or write a letter or postcard. What’s better than receiving an unexpected note through your door?
