The Grange Community Primary School in Banbury has participated in the Schools Santa Run ever since it started, so we thought it would be a good idea to catch up with them to find out about how they've achieved so much success with their fundraising.

How do they do it?

“We’ve been taking part in the Schools Santa Run for the past three years and it’s always a lovely opportunity to get the kids active in a really fun way at Christmas, whilst raising money for the hospice.” PE Specialist Teacher, Lucie, The Grange Community Primary School.

Lucie shares how to make the most of your Schools Santa Run…

  • Leadership opportunities: first we asked our sports leaders from across the school (years 1 to 6) and our House Captains to design the course. They then helped set it up and delivered the activities around the course.
  • Involving the whole school: the children have some great ideas! We included a fun competition element, which really motivated the children and they loved it! They collected a snowball each time they completed a lap and threw it into their House box and the House with the most snowballs was the winner.

Take a look at the course the children designed.
