Rose to Remember

Rose to Remember returns for 2024.

Remember a loved one at our special event at the Upton House and Gardens this June. Purchase your hand-crafted white metal rose, designed especially for Katharine House Hospice, as a tribute to the life and memory of someone special. 

More than 350 roses will form a stunning temporary installation at the National Trust property from Tuesday 18 June until Sunday 30 June, but you will need to buy your rose ahead of the display.

Buy one of these unique roses and be a part of the display

Each rose costs £30 to purchase and you will be able to collect them from the hospice during the weeks beginning 1 and 8 July after the display.

For an additional fee of £6 per rose, we can post your rose to you after the event.

Each rose flower is around 10cm diameter and the length of their stems when in the ground are around 50cm.

Those who dedicate a flower before 1 June will have the name of the person being remembered included on our dedication board, which will be on display at the installation.

To order your rose(s), please scroll to the foot of this page. We have a limited number available, so order yours now. We would kindly ask you to limit your purchase to a maximum of five roses. If you would like to buy more than five, please contact us at [email protected].

Private viewing day

The display will be open to those who have purchased a rose for a private viewing on Tuesday 18 June 2024. Visitors will need to book to attend the morning or afternoon session at the same time as purchasing your rose(s) in the form below. You are welcome to bring friends and family members, but you will need to book them in via our booking page.

Unfortunately, you can only book your private view at the time of purchasing a rose. If you would subsequently like to book for a private view or want to add friends or relations to accompany you, please contact the fundraising team on 01295 816484 or email [email protected].

At the viewing, members of Katharine House Hospice staff and bereavement team will be present. The restaurant will be open and refreshments will be available to purchase. You are welcome to bring your own picnic and enjoy the gardens. Access to the house is via timed ticket and these are available to select upon arrival at reception. 

Rose to Remember dedication page

We have set up a virtual Rose to Remember dedication page where you can add a personal tribute and photograph of your loved ones. Throughout the event, there will be a link to this page on our website and also on the signage at the event for members of the public to view.

When will I receive my rose?

You can choose to collect your rose from the hospice or be posted to you. 

The collection times are as follows: 

• Wednesday 3 July: 3–7pm 
• Saturday 6 July: 10am–1pm 
• Tuesday 9 July: 3–5pm 

You don’t need to book a collection slot – just come during any of these times and a rose will be ready for you. We ask that you please let us know in advance if you are unable to make these times. 

Alternatively for an additional £6 we can post your rose to you after the display. The roses will be packaged and distributed the week commencing 1 July. Please note that your rose will not fit through a letterbox.
